Downey & Scott has been selected to provide Construction Management services for the design and restoration of the historic Asbury Church in the Town of Middleburg.
Asbury Church, recognized as the oldest surviving church in Middleburg and oldest original African American church in Loudoun County, stands as an important landmark in the region’s cultural heritage. Downey & Scott will play a critical role in overseeing both the design and construction phases, ensuring that the restoration preserves the church’s historic integrity while adapting it for community use. This award follows our recent collaboration with the Town on the Middleburg Town Hall project.
Design is scheduled to begin in September 2025, with construction starting in August 2026 and completion anticipated in July 2027. The project’s Architect–Engineer is Glave & Holmes Architecture.
