Downey & Scott provided comprehensive cost estimating services for the conceptual design through construction documents for the new 36,500-SF Aquatics Center addition that will connect to the existing Cuffee Community Center. The design includes an 8-lane, 5,100-SF competition pool and a 3,200-SF therapy/recreational pool, men’s and women’s locker rooms, a family changing area, a therapy room, classrooms, a check-in desk, offices, a lifeguard room, a weight room, laundry facilities, and mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and aquatics support spaces.
The competition and recreational pools will be enclosed within an aluminum truss and storefront glass structure featuring a retractable polycarbonate roof to support year-round operations and improved energy performance.
A Bid option adds an outdoor fountain/splash zone and lounge area, an outdoor covered basketball court, and a jogging track located above the existing gymnasium and extending into the second-floor level of the new addition. |
