Downey & Scott provided cost estimating services for the redevelopment of a new 293,439 SF high school designed for 1,600 students. The reimagined Minnie Howard campus of Alexandria City High School embodies Alexandria City Public Schools’ vision of equity and an enriched student experience across its connected High School Network. The 30-month schedule divided $27.6M of site work into two phases. With sustainable features targeting Net Zero Energy and community-focused resources such as a community access areas included a 32,691 SF Aquatics Center ($19.1M), 2,033 SF Teen Wellness Center ($1.2M), 2,769 SF Department of Community and Human Services ($1.3M), and a 12,338 SF Early Childhood area ($4.2M).
